4 July 2025: 162nd Battle of Gettysburg at Daniel Lady Farm

Maj. Tom Reidenbach, Regimental Surgeon of the 104th PVI, with Lochlan Brown, a 13 year old cancer patient with a love for history who came to Gettysburg especially for this event through the Make A Wish foundation. Lochlan spent about an hour in camp where he enlisted in the Union Army with the 104th PVI as a Hospital Steward after receiving a letter from Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War dated July 1st, 1863 granting special dispensation to enlist (complete with enlistment papers) and was presented with a certificate signed by Col. Chuck Young and Major Reidenbach making him an Honorary member of the 104th PVI and was finally presented a display case containing Hospital Steward chevrons and the Hardee hat Steward emblems.
